Last year, Mark Griffiths and Mark Sorrell cycled from Land's End to John O'Groats completing a 987 mile trip in 20 days. Due to the generosity of Griff & Jones customers, we managed to raise a total of £2,217.60 for the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC). This year we have our sights set on Ireland. We are endeavouring to stick to the coast as closely as possible and cycle a circular route around the circumference of Ireland, completing 1048 miles in 18 days starting on 12th September 2008. We are sure to meet some fine Irish characters en route and we may even partake of a Guinness.
Mark Griffiths said:
“We decided to ride for the NSPCC charity again this year after the support and encouragement they provided last year. We want to do our bit to help children and support the work of the NSPCC.”
Phil Sharpe, NSPCC community fundraising manager for Worcestershire, said:
“Because around 85 per cent of NSPCC funding comes from voluntary donations and fundraising we are heavily reliant on the generosity of the general public to keep our services going. I am delighted that Mark Griffiths and Mark Sorrell are getting on their bikes once again to raising funds for the NSPCC.”
